Mukura BYOND at Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2023

On June 14-16, 2023, Mukura Ceramics had the opportunity to be one of the representives of Indonesia at Interior Lifestyle Tokyo. This exhibition is held annually by Messe Frankfurt at Tokyo Big Sight.

This year, Interior Lifestyle Tokyo carries the theme ‘Ethical products,’ with a focus on the environment, upcycling, and fair trade. Additionally, the exhibition area is divided into three sections: ‘Protection’ for environmental protection and organic products, ‘Chain’ for fair trade and upcycling, and ‘Snuggle’ for locally produced for local consumption.

There are a total of more than 500 exhibitors from 19 countries, including 8 companies from Indonesia. These companies are winners of the Good Design Indonesia and Good Design Award (G-Mark). Additionally, there is a selection and curation process by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade. The selected products include gift items, high-class furniture, and other lifestyle products.

In addition to being chosen as one of the eight, Mukura has also won GDI and G-Mark (GDA) awards. In 2022, Mukura joined Irianto Purnomo Hadi won GDI Best for the new innovation Mukura BYOND. The Mukura BYOND is a design of granite blocks with perforation. However, what makes BYOND unique is that it is not designed as individual products like conventional breezeblocks. Instead, it is designed as a system.

Mukura granite breezeblock becomes a sustainable home decor product for several reasons. Firstly, its design with holes allows for natural lighting and airflow with zero energy consumption. Secondly, being made from granite, Mukura breezeblocks are sturdy and able to withstand pressure, making it suitable for high-rise buildings and earthquake-resistant constructions. Thirdly, the high-quality glaze finishing ensures durability and low maintenance requirements, making it a long-lasting product.

Since 1985, Mukura has continuously pursued innovation to improve the quality of its products. This commitment has allowed Mukura to penetrate the Japanese construction materials market and become one of Indonesia’s representations at Interior Lifestyle Tokyo 2023. Mukura hopes to continue being a high-quality Indonesian product that meets international standards and successfully enters the Japanese market. Additionally, Mukura aspires for the granite breezeblocks to become a premium Indonesian material that can compete on the international stage.
