6 Healthy Bedroom Design Tips

  1. Choose calming colors

Pay attention to color choices, including walls, decorations, and furniture. Choose muted or soft colors, such as pastels and neutrals. Then, avoid flashy colors like red and bright yellow. Colors such as pastel blue or neutral beige are more gentle on the eyes. So, it’ll be easier to sleep.

 

  1. Dim lights

Second, reduce the light in the room. Ideally, the bedroom light is dimmer than the rest of the house. The goal is so that our bodies can rest. Did you know, the body produces melatonin, a hormone that helps us relax, in darker places. So, make sure the bedroom is dim so you can sleep better.

Apart from temperature, humidity is also very important. Have you ever woken up from sleep with a dry mouth and throat? That means the air in the room is cry. Electronic devices such as TV should not be in the bedroom. Especially the ones emitting lights. Because light from electronic devices interferes with sleep. Many studies show that people who are exposed to light before bed have more difficulty falling asleep. So, avoid putting electronic devices in the room.

Put some ornamental plants in the bedroom. In addition to making the room more beautiful and fresh, ornamental plants also have other benefits. For example, some types can filter toxic particles from the air in the room. Thus, the air becomes fresher and healthier.

 

  1. Air circulation

Lastly, make sure the air circulation in the bedroom is at its best. That is, the air full of carbon from the results we breathe can be replaced with oxygen-rich air. Otherwise, the room will be stuffy. Our bodies need a lot of oxygen while sleeping. Moreover, having AC alone is not enough. Thus, it’s crucial to put openings such as windows and vents.
