4 Types of Mosque Ornaments
Most mosques have reliefs or ornaments at the entrance and inside. Mosque ornaments can be considered a must, to add to the Islamic elements. Actually, there are several types of ornaments based on the material. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each of them.

Wooden
Woodwork has another name which is wooden ornaments. The way to make this ornament is to carve various types of wood. This is what makes it look classic and adds to the high aesthetic value. In addition, wood is also a natural material so it is environmentally friendly. However, wooden ornament has many disadvantages. In addition to being prone to termites and weather, it also needs regular maintenance such as varnish and termiticide. Then, the manufacturing process itself takes longer, and you have to be smart in choosing the wood type. Usually, quality wood also means pricey.

GRC screen
GRC screen (concrete screen) is getting more and more popular lately. The material is a mixture of concrete and glass fibers, making it stronger and more durable. Despite being strong, the GRC is quite light and flexible. Then, the texture is also smooth with various designs. However, there are some drawback. Because it is made in factories, it is difficult to make custom motifs, because there must be a minimum amount of order. In addition, it is also difficult to repair if there is damage. What’s more, it’s in the form of panels, so the connection must be neat.

Gypsum
The third material is gypsum. Compared to GRC, this material is smoother. Plus, it’s easier to fix too. The material is light and easily absorbs paint, just use wall paint. However, gypsum is not strong, neither waterproof. Because the material is softer, it is more sensitive to impact. It also needs routine maintenance.

Ceramic granite breezeblock or ventilation block is also a good material option. It’s in the form of blocks, so install it by arranging or stacking them like ordinary bricks. It is available in various designs, classic to minimalist. In addition, it is equipped with a glossy glaze layer, so it is weather resistant and has an elegant impression. Because of the glaze, it is also easy to clean, just wipe it clean with a cloth. When it comes to durability, ceramic granite breezeblock can last for decades.
