Katong, Singaporean Laksa Restaurant

Baba Laksa is a restaurant  in Ozone Mall, Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta. This restaurant serves Singaporean Katong laksa as well as various Peranakan cuisines. In addition, there are also various menus of toast that are equally delicious.

This restaurant belonging to the GF Culinary group has a dream of bringing Katong and Peranakan food into the daily diet of Jakarta residents. In particular, those of mixed Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian descent.

Peranakan and Hawker Interior

The interior of this restaurant itself isPeranakan style, which uses a lot of wood and accents in green and red. Green and red are the hallmarks of Peranakan interiors. In addition, the layout of the chairs and tables is similar to the hawker style.

What is Hawker? Hawker is a term for a place to eat where the table and customer seats are in the middle. Then, the food vendors were around the table and chair area. So, buyers can buy food from any seller and then bring it to the center to eat together.

The term hawker is synonymous with a friendly, family, and simple dining atmosphere. That is why Baba Laksa uses the hawker style, because it lines up with their dream, which is to bring Singaporean cuisine closer to Indonesians.

If you come to Baba Laksa, the first thing you see is definitely its red-green facade. The facade of this restaurant is decorated with ceramic granite breezeblock Roster Victorial in Green. The beautiful design of this classic roster is not only suitable for Peranakan style designs, but also for American Classics like in The HOMe Cilandak.

The green color of the Mukura breezeblock is also a favorite because it is a beautiful and elegant Emerald Green color. So, this green Victorian at Baba Laksa gives an elegant impression.
