Designer’s Story

Gaining a reputation for dreaming up some of the most innovative eco design solutions around, zeninadriandesignlab in contributing to the evolution of Indonesian architecture by taking things one sustainable step at a time.

Founded on the premise of devising a more ecological way of approaching architectural design, zeninadriandesignlab (ZADL) is a young, thriving Jakarta-based firm which is bent on transforming the conventions of traditional Indonesian architecture.

Prior to his return to Indonesia, Adrian underwent a formal education which saw him pursuing his Master of Architecture at the University of Toronto, Canada before finally finishing his studies at the prestigious Graduate School of Design at Harvard University.

The Design

Diagrid reworks the classic 9-hole vent block with a diagonal twist, turning a familiar form into something more dynamic. Made in ceramic, it belongs to the Mukura 2017 Designers’ Collection by Zenin Adrian, patented jointly with Mukura under Indonesia’s Directorate General of Intellectual Property.

How to Care?

Mukura breezeblock is finished with a glaze layer engineered for daily wear. The glazed surface has zero porosity, so a damp cloth lifts dirt and stains with no scrubbing required. Outdoors, a hose down keeps it clean.

Interior Combination

Mukura breezeblock performs equally well as an interior feature or an exterior facade. Fired at over 1000°C and resistant to chemicals, stains, and scratches, it holds up against direct weather exposure as confidently as it does indoors.

Roster Mukura dilapisi glasir yang dirancang untuk penggunaan sehari-hari. Permukaan berglasirnya memiliki nol pori, sehingga kain lembap cukup untuk mengangkat kotoran dan noda tanpa perlu digosok. Untuk pemasangan outdoor, semprotan air saja sudah cukup untuk menjaga kebersihannya.
